JSC Proton

JSC "Proton" is a leading manufacturer of optoelectronic equipment in Russia. The company has been operating since 1972 and possesses modern technologies for producing optoelectronic devices, ensuring a full production cycle from crystals to finished products.

Modern advanced technologies for crystal production require a very high degree of water purity. In the electronics industry, the total organic carbon (TOC) is a common indicator of water contamination. The production line requires water with a TOC level of less than 5 μg/L.

LIT developed a system with special UV lamps that emit at two wavelengths: 254 nm and 185 nm. This radiation allows for both water disinfection and the breakdown of substances contributing to the TOC.

Parallel operation with previously used Western equipment showed that Russian equipment is not inferior to European models. The effectiveness of TOC reduction was more than tenfold, from 50 μg/L to less than 4.5 μg/L.
